Welcome to the public side of the website for the IFA USA Branch, newly updated in 2006. There are a number of features in this site to enhance the benefit of IFA membership, including sections for committees to meet and post documents, a new events calendar allowing for electronic registration and payment for conferences and seminars, special portals for "groups" of members with like interests, both of a technical nature and industry related, an upgraded and searchable research library, and links to similar web sites.
If you are not a member of the IFA USA Branch, your access to this website is limited to certain public information regarding the organization of the USA branch, including its officers and members of the executive committee, as well as certain published information regarding upcoming events, both in the U.S. and elsewhere.

The 2009 IFA U.S.A. Branch Annual Conference will be held in Washington, DC, Thursday February 26 & Friday February 27, 2009.
The International Fiscal Association (USA Branch) is pleased to announce the winner of the IFA USA Branch 2007 Writing Competition is David Pozen, for his excellent paper, "Tax Expenditures as Foreign Aid". Mr. Pozen is currently based in Washington, where he is a fellow (Yale Law School Heyman Federal Public Service Fellowship) for the 2007-2008 academic year serving on Senator Kennedy's Judiciary Committee staff as "Special Assistant to Senator Kennedy". The IFA USA Branch Annual Writing Competition is open to all students pursuing a U.S. graduate degree with a tax focus during the current academic year. Submissions may be on any topic relating to United States taxation of income from international activities, including taxation under U.S. tax treaties. The winning entrant is presented with a cash prize at the IFA USA Branch Annual Meeting. Submission Deadline is October 1st each year.
